About Us
SCMC has been an idea that started in the early 90’s. As time went on and certain factors came into place the shop opened for business on April 1st 2003. 17 Riordon St. is a century old building that has housed welding shops to rent-all businesses over the years. Rich in local history and unique in structural design the skylight windows and bridge trussle beams offer a different type of feel when customers walk through the open bay door past the much asked about fire hydrant. We have recently expanded to serve you better. Located in downtown St. Catharines behind the Jack Gatecliffe and Rex Timer arenas, SCMC is convenient to get to whether you live or work in or around the city

Shawn MacIntosh wanted his first motorcycle at a very young age. His older brothers both fixed and rode motorcycles and so the seed was planted. His first motorcycle was a shared YZ125 with his brother and from there he has owned and ridden dirt bikes, street bikes and race bikes of all kinds. In the spring of 1987, he started working at a dealership and spent the next 15 years learning about parts, accessories and service. “Take care of your customer’s needs and they will return for more”.

Niagara College offers the regions oldest safety training course and 12 years ago Shawn became an instructor. Giving back to the motorcycling community is just another part of St. Catharines Motorcycle Centre’s (SCMC) philosophy. We are proud to be a sponsor of the Canada Safety Council Gearing Up program. Shawn has also been a member Welland County Motorcycle Club as well as CMA, Nifty Fifty and Steel City Riders.
SERVICE DEPARTMENT:

A strong service department is key to the operation of a motorcycle shop. With the proper tools and staff in place SCMC can help get more riders back on the road faster and on time. From adding air to your tires to engine and transmission work we do it all.

Some of the regular services offered are spring tune-up’s, tire and oil changes and installing accessories like windshields and saddlebags. Some of the less ordinary services are motorcycle pick up /delivery and winter storage and safety’s.

PARTS AND ACCESSORIES DEPARTMENT:

The Parts and Accessories department is where SCMC pulls everything together. Inventory of fast moving items is ever increasing so we’re likely to have what you need in stock. If we need to order your part then our on-line computer ordering system ensures your parts arrive quickly, quite often next day. With an experienced staff who is there to please the customer, you will be pleased each time you come to SCMC for your motorcycling needs.

Trying to find that hard to locate accessory? Give us a try. Our shop features all the regular line-up of hard parts including Dunlop and Bridgestone tires, NGK plugs, Yuasa batteries, Bell-ray oils and DID chain. Joe Rocket, Shoei helmets and Dirt Bike riding gear.

BIKES

SCMC sells used motorcycles of all sizes and styles and new scooters. We go over every detail of a motorcycle before we send you off with your purchase, and with a 30 day limited warranty we know you will be happy. With trade-ins welcome check back often for new bikes.
